Epistemic insight means ‘knowledge about knowledge’ – and in particular ‘knowledge about disciplines and how they interact. An example of epistemic insight is where a student or teacher says, “ah – that’s a good question for us to investigate scientifically and here’s an idea about an experiment we could try” or “We could look at this question through the lens of geography. We could compare maps of different areas.”
